In realtà la prossime revisioni della stessa scheda prevedono la presenza del chip LM63 che consentirà al Radeon 9600XT di innalzare la propria frequenza in maniera automatica in funzione della temperatura dello stesso.<p>

All designs supporting OVERDRIVETM must include the LM63 chip. Trying to use the OVERDRIVE™ software without the LM63 chip present may cause the graphics processor to exceed its maximum operating temperature and result in permanent damage. Customers who do not need or want the LM63 chip version of the graphics card just need to ensure that the video BIOS used has the OVERDRIVETM function disabled. Starting from software release 7.97, the display driver will automatically check for the presence of the LM63 device before enabling OVERDRIVETM.
