MARKHAM, Ontario/ Munich, Germany - December 2, 2003 - ATI Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ATYT; TSX: ATY) today announced the FireGL(tm) T2-128 workstation graphics accelerator is an Elite graphics option for the Intel® Pentium® 4/Xeon-based HP Workstation xw4100. With record Viewperf performance scores for an entry-level workstation solution, a high bandwidth, parallel processing architecture and hardware accelerated rendering capabilities, the FireGL(tm) accelerator dramatically increases productivity
and decreases production time for mechanical design and digital content creation professionals running applications based on OpenGL® or Microsoft DirectX® 9.
Based on the most recent Viewperf scores submitted to the SPEC organization, the FireGL T2-128 outperforms similarly priced products on all benchmarks, averaging 65%
faster than the competing offering. For score details, please visit http://www.specbench.org. The innovative architecture of the FireGL T2-128, featuring dual geometry engines and
quad rendering pipelines, packs a remarkable amount of graphics processing power. The FireGL T2-128 has 128MB of DDR memory, and supports dual display output through
one VGA connector and one DVI-I connector.
"As an ideal entry-level solution, ATI's FireGL T2-128 is designed to deliver breakthrough performance at an extremely affordable price," said Dinesh Sharma, director of workstation products, ATI Technologies Inc. "This accelerator gives engineers, architects, animators and students the ability to experiment with various design options in real-time, increasing creativity and resulting in greater innovation while streamlining the design process."
"The FireGL T2-128 is a great addition to the numerous ATI graphics accelerators HP currently offers to its workstation customers," said Jim Zafarana, vice president and worldwide marketing manager, Workstation Global Business Unit, HP. "This added Elite graphics option demonstrates HP's ongoing commitment to providing customers extraordinary performance capabilities at an affordable price."
In addition to full WHQL certification, the FireGL line is certified and backed with a three-year warranty for the leading DCC, CAD, AEC (architecture, engineering and construction), CFD (computational fluid dynamics), and visual simulation applications.

In ultimo Ati presenta il chip di acquisizione video Theater 313 per la gestione di ricevitori HDTV ad alte prestazioni.

MARKHAM, Ontario/ Munich, Germany - December 2, 2003 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) today introduced the THEATER(tm) 313 -- a simple and
cost-effective way for television manufacturers to meet United States Federal Communications Commission requirements and "Plug and Play" agreement. The new
receiver chip will be attractive to manufacturers of set-top boxes, ITDs (integrated tuner demodulator), PC-DTVs (personal computer-digital television) and datacast equipment.
Designed to operate in Digital Cable Ready, analog NTSC (National Television Standards Committee), and ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) terrestrial
broadcast environments, ATI's THEATER 313 offers a high level of integration that allows manufacturers to develop high performance, high functionality products in a space-
and cost-effective manner.
"It's no longer good enough to just deliver world class ATSC receiver performance," said Mike Gittings, Director of Digital Television Marketing, DTV/Consumer Products
Group, ATI Technologies Inc. "The market has become more complex. FCC mandates require the phased in integration of ATSC receivers into new integrated DTV products.
Manufacturers and consumers desire integrated digital cable compatibility. We also realize that analog content is not going away. Today's solutions must address all of
these market requirements. On top of that, modern receivers must improve digital reception reliability, provide better analog picture quality, and reduce cost.
THEATER 313is designed to address all these needs."
THEATER 313 enables manufacturers to deliver exceptional cable performance products to consumers. THEATER 313 offers quick access to signals while
reducing interference. For digital terrestrial reception, the advanced equalizer provides exceptional dynamic and static multi-path performance. Superior performance in
harsh environments is achieved by the use of robust synchronization and equalization algorithms.
ATI's THEATER 313 incorporates a universal QPSK (quadrature phase shift keying) forward data channel (FDC) receiver and a BTSC/Dual FM demodulator and decoder.
The THEATER 313 is configurable to operate in either the ITU-J.83B/SCTE DVS-031 compliant 64 QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) or 256 QAM modes used by
digital cable systems, the NTSC analog system, or the ATSC compliant 8VSB (vestigal sideband) mode used in digital terrestrial broadcasting. For digitally modulated
input signals (QAM or 8VSB), THEATER 313 outputs a parallel or serial MPEG compliant transport stream.
For analog NTSC input signals, THEATER 313 outputs the video as an analog composite video signal and the audio as decoded digital Left and Right channels via an
I2S port. For the out-of-band FDC, THEATER 313 performs the QPSK demodulation and provides a direct digital interface to CableCARD(tm) devices.
THEATER 313 samples and evaluation systems are available to qualified customers. ATI Technologies will exhibit its DTV technologies at The Western Show at
CableNET '03 (Hall C) December 2 to 5, 2003 in Anaheim, California. In addition, ATI Technologies will exhibit DTV solutions at International CES 2004, booth 23045,
South Hall, Upper Level, Las Vegas Convention Center.
