Intel ha ufficialmente acquisito l'azienda irlandese Havok.

Havok è specializzata nella creazioe di tools utili nella gestione delle elaborazioni fisiche all'interno dei giochi 3D o nelle produzioni cinematografiche, già partner di Amd ed Nvidia (oltre a Sony e Microsoft), sulle cui collaborazioni non ci dovrebbero essere risvolti: questo perchè Havok continuerà a lavorare in modo indipendente.

“Havok is a proven leader in physics technology for gaming and digital content, and will become a key element of Intel’s visual computing and graphics efforts”, queste le parole del vice presidente e general manager della divisione software di Intel, Renee J. James.

Le dichiarazioni del CEO di Havok, David O'Meara, sono piene di entusiasmo: “This is a great fit for Havok products, customers and employees,” remarked Havok CEO David O’Meara. “Intel’s scale of technology investment and customer reach enable Havok with opportunities to grow more quickly into new market segments with new products than we could have done organically.
