D-link G122 su linux?

Ciao raga, siccome ho formattato il notebook volevo sapere se c'è la possibilità di usare la g122 (penna usb wireless per andare in internet) su linux, se si con quale distro, la config del portatile è :
K6-2+ (o k6III non ho ancora capito visto che anche il bios me lo scambia per k6III)
128mb di ram
5gb hard disk
scheda video trident (mi sembra da 8mb o 16mb non so)
Modello: Compaq Armada 100s

sia ubuntu che xubuntu si bloccano appena arrivi alla schermata di caricamento (quella con lo sfondo tinta unica, si blocca prima della solita casella centrale), deli linux invece non so perchè ma non parte nemmeno, non mi trova il cd, forse avrò sbagliato a masterizzarlo

puoi far funzionare a meraviglia la tua G122 con la versione 6.06 di Ubuntu/Kubuntu, che è la stessa usata nel primo link che tio ho passato con la procedura completa di installazione e ottimizzazioni varie

Edit: vado un po' in OT ma adesso quando ho messo su linux (antix mepis 6.5) mi esce una strana scritta che manca il file hibernat.exe , esce appena starta il pc, dopo la scritta compaq, rileva l'hard disk ma dice f10 per entrare nel setup e f1 per ignorare, sai com'è non è bellisismo a vedersi e a premere f1 ogni volta (mi succede anche col windows 2000, ho provato a mettere pure quello)

Altro edit: funziona con antix questa procedura? Sai com'è, non mi va nessuna distro sul portatile tranne antix, ma ho quel problema che ho detto prima che non mi fa accede, non so perché

E' una caratteristica specifica di quella macchina:

"HIBERNAT Utility NOTE:
Select the suspend-to-disk option in the SCU and reboot the notebook to
find out if the suspend-to-disk partition is already created. If it is not
created or if there is an insufficient size, you will get an error message.
The HIBERNAT.EXE utility program allows you to create the suspend-to-disk
partition in your hard drive, which is required for the Suspend-to-Disk function of
your notebook.
You can locate the file under the \Utility directory on the CD-ROM. To utilize the
program, follow this command syntax:
HIBERNAT -Pnn
where nn specifies the size (in MB) of the partition.
You must specify a memory size larger than your current memory size plus 8MB.
The partition, as shipped from the factory, is 206MB to allow for future upgrade of
your memory. Use the command “HIBERNAT -p206” to duplicate the factory
partition size. If you do not specify the parameter, the default size will be your
system RAM plus 8MB. The extra 8MB is for the overhead of the program and
data held in video memory.
You can clear the contents of the partition using the HIBERNAT -C command. The
command is useful only when you are backing up the data in the hard drive."
